 Innovate, Don't Intubate

Thursday, October 7, 2021
8:00 am - 9:30 am

Intubation is used by medical professionals as part of the ‘life support’ process to keep you alive (albeit at a nominal level), usually when you are seriously ill.Managers sometimes use intubation figuratively to protect their position and to ensure the code division continues to operate at “safe” but only nominal levels (as if it were seriously ill). This class will help managers (and those who wish to manage) see the value of innovation and empowerment in their programs. They will learn that while innovation can be scary and feel ‘dangerous’, when done properly, innovation can take the Code Enforcement program from mediocre to magnificent. Students will learn techniques to draw out creativity and innovation from staff and learn to create a safe place to make mistakes and grow in a learning environment. Students will learn ways to transform their policy’s and procedures from protective to proactive!
