In January 2022, California passed Senate Bill 296 which
requires each local jurisdiction that employs code
enforcement officers to develop safety standards
appropriate for their jurisdiction.
Although each
jurisdiction's needs could widely vary, the courses
within this certificate program act as a solid foundation for each
jurisdiction to build from. Courses in Cardiopulmonary
Resuscitation (CPR), Situational Awareness, and Defensive
Tactics are appropriate for all levels at every jurisdiction
within the State.
This Officer Safety Certificate is only available to CACEO members and, once earned, remains valid so long as your individual components remain valid. You must provide documentation of completion of all courses in your submission.
