This course is designed to familiarize and assist investigative personnel who
are involved in the investigation of indoor cannabis grows and concentrated
cannabis extraction labs. Attendees with
learn cannabis horticulture and how marijuana is grown indoors. Attendees will gain knowledge in how indoor
cultivation and cannabis extraction equipment works and what it is used for in
the cultivation/extraction process. The
course will discuss “red flags” and danger signs associated with indoor cultivation and concentrated cannabis labs. Attendees will be introduced to the
appropriate safety precautions that should be taken to effectively investigate
these operations and keep personnel safety. Attendees will also learn how to
safely and properly collect evidence from these scenes.

Seth Cimino, Special Operations Unit Sergeant Citrus Heights Police Department

|
Seth Cimino is the Special Operations Unit Sergeant with the Citrus Heights (CA) Police Department. The Spec Ops Unit is made up of the Problem Oriented Policing (POP) team, Code Enforcement and Rental Housing Inspection Program, the Homeless Navigator Program and the Animal Services Unit.
Prior to joining the CHPD in 2013, Seth worked for the Del Norte County (CA) Sheriff’s Office where he supervised the county’s Marijuana Suppression Program. During the course of his 19+ year career, Seth has spent over 10 years as a Narcotics Detective.
Seth is a CA POST-certified instructor and Office of National Drug Control Policy-National Marijuana Initiative speaker and frequently teaches for several training organizations, including State and National HIDTAs and Code Enforcement Officers’ Associations in topics ranging from: medical marijuana investigation & application (Prop. 215 / SB 420), marijuana cultivation, possession, possession for sales, sales, concentrated cannabis/Butane Hash Oil (BHO) investigations and officer safety techniques.
He is a published author of multiple drug-related crimes and search and seizure articles and also serves as a CA POST Subject Matter Expert (SME). He has qualified as a drug-related crimes subject matter expert in state and federal court.
Seth possesses his POST Advanced Certificate and also has his Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice from CSU-Sacramento. Seth
is the Owner/President of Cimino Training and Consulting and travels teaching classes and consulting for law enforcement
agencies and associations.
