 California Code Series Part 1: International Property Maintenance

The California Code Series reviews various codes used in California. This session will focus on the International Property Maintenance Code, California Code of Regulations (specifically regulations for mobile home parks and defensible space) and the structure of common municipal codes. We will review resources for accessing codes, common codes and code applications which would be informative for Code Enforcement personnel. You may take induvial sessions without the need to attend the entire series.

 Kenneth King, Deputy Fire Marshal Riverside County Fire Department

Deputy Fire Marshal Kenneth King with the Riverside County Fire Department is currently assigned to supervise the Western portion of Riverside County, including eleven partner cities. Mr. King recently retired as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with 11 years of service. He was assigned to the Narcotics Division as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for five years primarily supporting the criminal interdiction unit. He was also a regional board member for the California Narcotic Officers’ Association. Mr. King has also worked large festivals such as Coachella, Stage Coach, Knotfest/Ozzfest, Hard Summer, Nocturnal Wonderland, Apogaea and Burning Man, as a Fire Safety Specialist, Reserve Deputy Sheriff, Safety Lead and/or a fire artist. Mr. King started his career in Code Enforcement in 2000, working for the town of Apple Valley, County of San Bernardino and County of Riverside. He was responsible for multiple civil injunctions and special enforcement projects.
