Learn What You Need To Know As A Result Of The Passage Of Senate Bill 296!

Complimentary webinar | Open to CACEO members only

As Code Enforcement Officers we know that it is all too common to be threatened, harassed, or even assaulted in the line of duty. While it is commonplace for jurisdictions to have established safety standards for police and fire personnel, to date no such standards are required for those who employ Code Enforcement Officers. In response to this inequity, CACEO took decisive action—engaging in the state legislative process by sponsoring California Senate Bill (SB) 296.

Authored by State Senator Monique Limón (D, Santa Barbara) and signed into law by Governor Newsom, SB 296 is the first piece of legislation in the Nation that requires every jurisdiction that employs code enforcement officers to establish statewide safety standards.

Join Board President, Jamie Zeller, (City of Poway), Legislative Chair Matthew Silver (Silver & Wright LLP), Officer Safety Chair Darrell Revier (City of Livermore) and Board Member Larry Breceda (City of Duarte) as we present CAECO-Endorsed Model Polices and Best Practices, learn about how you can work directly with your jurisdiction to implement these polices and next steps.
