How to Testify to the Senate Appropriations Committee in Support of Senate Bill 101 – The DMV Bill You will be giving your testimony by phone. Here is the number you will call at 9:00 AM on Monday, March 22nd: 844-291-6364 You will then be prompted to enter your access code. Here is the access code: 6542897 You will then be put into listening mode. When SB 101 is called, the telephonic monitor will ask you to enter the number “1 0”. Wait a few minutes and the monitor will come back to give you a queue number. You will then go back to listening mode. When the moderator comes back on, you will be able to testify. When you testify, tell the Committee that SB 101 should not be on the suspense file (the suspense file is where the Committee pigeon holes all bills that have cost issues) because this bill has NO cost dimensions. SB 101 specifically provides that the cost of applying for privacy protection from the DMV is borne by each individual applicant. Tell the Committee that putting SB 101 on the suspense file makes no sense because the bill itself covers all costs associated with its adoption and ask that it be removed from the suspense file. A couple of notes: Be patient. It will probably take about an hour before SB 101 comes up. The best remedy is to put your phone on speaker and multi-task until you are asked to enter “1 0” to get into the queue. Once you enter “ 1 0” don’t end it again or you will be disconnected.
