Bishop Ron Allen has been the President and founder of the International Faith Based Coalition since 1993. The organization, which now represents over 5000 Inner city houses of worship, was formed to prevent and combat the scourge of illegal drug use that causes disproportionate harm to underserved communities. In 2014 he became the President of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE). CORE, one of the most venerable and historically respected Civil Rights organizations in American history, had fallen into the hands of self-serving leadership that was inconsistent with CORE’s heritage and principles. Bishop Allen, on becoming President of CORE, restored that organization to its founding principles.
Both the International Faith Based Coalition and the Congress of Racial Equality have been consistent and unrelenting supporters of the objectives of the California Association of Code Enforcement Officers. Both organizations believe that CACEO’s objectives are essential to the safety, health and well-being of those who live in underserved communities. Consequently they have supported CACEO’s entire Legislative and Litigation programs.
We will miss Bishop Allen and his courageous support of the CACEO objectives. Fortunately, after long discussion with Lady Gail Allen, Bishop Allen’s wife, one of their six children Taknesha Allen, is assuming the leadership of both organizations.
