| CACEO Members: As the Covid-19 vaccination rollout continues at a less than ideal pace, CACEO continues to advocate for early access to the vaccine for code enforcement officers. CACEO has urged the California Department of Public Health, the Health Officers Association of California, and each and every county health officer to include code enforcement amongst the list of those essential frontline workers who receive the vaccine early. While some jurisdictions have provided code enforcement with access to the vaccine by classifying them as frontline responders, many (if not most) code enforcement officers have not yet been provided access to the vaccine, and do not know when they will receive access. For this reason, CACEO continues to advocate. CACEO representatives continue to engage with the California Department of Public Health’s Community Vaccine Advisory Committee (CVAC), by attending their meetings and providing public comment. CACEO will continue to advocate until all code enforcement officers have access to a Covid-19 vaccine. We will continue to provide updates as they become available. Members are encouraged to remain diligent to protect themselves and those around them throughout this challenging time. |
