About the ClassThe Bombing Prevention Awareness course provides an overview of IEDs and explosive effects, homemade explosives, an introduction to the terrorist attack cycle, and response to suspicious behaviors and items. This basic awareness is used to enhance bombing prevention measures. This class is great for all field personnel doing inspections as well as support staff. This class is through the Office of Bombing Prevention and hosted by the Code Enforcement Officer Safety Foundation. Prior to the training, participants will be sent FEMA registration information which is required to attend.
About the InstructorDean Phaneuf is a CEOSF Officer Safety Certified Instructor (COSCI) and CISA/FEMA Trainer. Dean is also a Code Official Safety Specialist.He has over 42 years experience in law enforcement and currently serves as a Code Compliance Manager in California. Dean was a Police Sergeant, Bomb Squad Commander, SWAT member, and Detective. Dean also served as a Special Deputy U.S. Marshal assigned to an FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. He is an AACE Certified Code Enforcement Administrator, CACEO Certified Code Enforcement Officer, and has numerous trainings related to explosives, including the FBI Hazardous Devices School.
