Course Description

This 40 hour (5 Day) Basic course will cover the basic foundation and principles of Code Enforcement. This class is intended for anyone who’s interested in the career of Code Enforcement or a beginner Code Technician.

The class will cover Field Activities, Basic Inspections, Case Documentation, Officer Safety, Building & Property Maintenance Violations, Land Use, Health & Safety, Legal Aspects, Ethics & Professionalism and Customer Service.

It is CACEO’s policy that all handouts, including any copies of PowerPoint slide decks available, are to be transmitted to students via electronic transfer.  We use a delivery system called WeTransfer because the documents are often much larger than normal email allows.  If you do not receive handouts by the Thursday before the start of an academy, please contact bryan@bobrowassociates.com for assistance.

Note* Attendee’s must attend all 5 days. Attendees who miss more than four (4) hours (10%) of class will be disqualified from taking the Module exam. (Administrative Regulations, 4.6)

Credits Awarded

1 Academy Module Credit

Pass Rate

Full participation in the Module, plus a 75% pass rate on the exam.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

• Cancellations must be in writing and received by CACEO at least 8 days in advance in order to receive a refund
•   No shows will be billed 
•   You may substitute a CACEO member if you find you cannot attend and are beyond the time to receive a refund, but you must notify CACEO in advance so that we can switch the registration from your profile to another CACEO member.
