Understanding the Impact of Advancing Technologies on Crimes of Sex and Labor Trafficking
Thursday, October 15
On Demand
The year 2020 will see the entire world connected by Internet as 5G brings more than 6 Billion people online. Simultaneously, we are seeing a convergence of five technologies that will change crime and crime solving, especially crimes of sex and labor exploitation, many involving our children. This presentation will look at the impact of mass audience live streaming, a global crypto currency war, artificial intelligence, encryption and the Dark Net on crimes of human exploitation. We will explore large scale sextortion rings exploiting teens and adults through dating apps, instant messaging apps, online video games and mass audience live streaming. We will examine global child pornography rings of pedophiles (thousands from the US) using the surface web to meet and develop million- member pedophile communities in the Dark Net. Most important, we will share indicators for code enforcement professionals to be able to recognize signs of these crimes against the innocent and learn how to report.
