Thousands of children are lead‐poisoned each year as well as hundreds of adults! Many of these poisonings are attributed to exposure to lead paint chips and/or dust in homes and other buildings built before 1978.

The EPA RRP Rule requires anyone who is conducting work for compensation that disturbs painted surfaces in a pre‐1978 building to obtain training and become certified in lead‐safe work practices, to contain paint chips and dust, cleanup all work areas. And yet many licensed contractors, painters, laborers and property owners are unaware of the EPA Rule nor have they been trained in lead safety. They can contribute to lead exposure of their customers, neighbors, workers, and the workers families.

This course provides the information code enforcement officers need about the RRP Rule, California regulations and lead safe practices to protect themselves and the public from lead hazard exposures. Upon completion of this course that includes classroom and hands‐on training, you will receive an EPA

Renovation Repair Painting Rule Certified Renovator certificate good for five years. You will have the knowledge to enforce lead safety practices and know how to protect yourself and others from lead hazards.
